Jim and Martha came aboard last week for a quick catch and release trip. There was a strong chance of rain that day, so we stayed very close to Lake Catherine Island Marina in New Orleans. Live Shrimp under a cork was the ticket. They caught and released 6 nice sized Redfish in a couple hours and then decided not to push our luck with the weather, so we called it a day. As we enter the month of March, Redfish action will heat up. There is a lot of fresh water pouring into the area from swollen rivers to our north. Speckled Trout fishing will slow down. Redfish are perfectly fine with freshwater, so we'll be targeting them more often now. As always, I recommend the full day trip for the best catch. At your service, Capt. Drake Morvant
