Preston and Steve braved the cold temps and stiff wind on Lake Pontchartrain last Monday for a huge catch of Speckled Trout. Using live shrimp, they put 50 fat specks on ice by 10 am. They were kind enough to let me throw a plastic bait out to add another 18 in the boat by 10:24. With the wind increasing in speed and the temperature dropping we agreed to leave them biting and head back to the dock. I witnessed the water temp dropping steadily while we were out, so there this was probably the last big catch of Trout we'll see until we get some sunshine or warmer temps.
