Greetings. The last few charters and as a result of a few "cold fronts" (by Florida standards), we've switched our tactics to drum (Red and Black), and friends...we've found them! Our last two charters have yielded 10+ of each species (Red and Black drum). My strategy has been to seek out deeper water with structure, with creeks that feed them.. On a recent trip, I had Walter and Denise on board from Charlotte, NC and they had a ball! We were fortunate to get them both tight lines from the start to the end of their half day charter. We started their trip right up front of Flamingo and found Red drum almost immediately. Denise caught hers and Walter caught his shortly thereafter! Both were caught on light tackle rods outfitted with IRT 300 PG reels, with 20 lb braided line and 40lb leader. Shortly after, and knowing that we had our Red fish limit, we switched tactics and went on a Black drum search. At our next stop, the creeks that feed the beaches off of Cape Sable, we came across a school of Black drum that kept me busy between baiting, casting and landing fish for my new friends from NC. All in all, the drum action is hot right now but the Snook and Tarpon action is still on in the back country of ENP. Contact us today, we will design a charter to your liking! Until then, tight lines!
