We kicked off the day trolling with two live bonitas, chasing the dream of a trophy marlin. Nine miles offshore, the ocean suddenly came alive—birds dive-bombing the surface in a full-on feeding frenzy. That was our cue to switch gears and unleash kite fishing, one of the most deadly techniques out there. The action was nonstop: four hard-fighting tuna landed and two more lost in brutal battles.
