March Madness
Март 24, 2023
March has been one busy month for us on the water. We've definitely been slammed this spring break for sure. It has been the typical Florida weather, hit or miss with either really calm or really rough conditions. One day it's flat calm and sunny then freezing cold and blowing the next. We just never know what we'll get so we got to keep our options open for fishing locations this time of year. Sebastian Inlet has been our main focus for most charters. The bite is usually pretty consistent this time of year whether it be snook, redfish, jack crevalle, bluefish, spanish mackeral, or goliath grouper. Depending on what our clients are looking to catch we can pretty much get any one of these fish on a daily basis at the inlet. Lately, drifting the incoming tide with mojarras or finger mullet has produced numerous amounts of jack crevalle. Them jacks are a lot of fun to catch and can definitely put a whooping on you using light tackle. We've caught these jacks for the past couple weeks ranging anywhere from 5 to 40 + lbs. Not to mention the fact that jacks are actually really good to eat. The snook bite has slowed down quite a bit but we're still getting them. In previous years slot snook (28" to 32") were rare. Most of the time the inlet snook are oversized ranging from 35" to 40". In the last 6 months we've caught more slot snook than I'd ever seen. Another change has been the amount of big bull reds. This season really hasn't produced those big schools of bull reds that I love hooking into. We've caught them here and there but not consistently. In the lagoon, the fishing has been decent. We've been catching some decent speckled trout, black drum, bluefish, and snook along the mangrove shorelines. There are some monster snook under the docks but getting them to eat is a whole other story. Trolling the channels has produced some Spanish macks as well. We haven't done any offshore trips do to the inconsistent weather. I have been seeing other charters with bigger boats going out and doing pretty good on lane snapper, kingfish, and cobia. The bowfishing trips haven't been to busy yet, still trying to get the word out there for us. The tilapia are bedding now and the water is down about 3 feet which makes it a lot easier to find the fish. We're hoping to maybe start doing some largemouth bass fishing trips in the future as well. We're very excited that we have another captain that will be working with us soon. Captain Rob Becerra will be running inshore river trips for us all throughout the Indian River. Captain Rob specializes in big dock snook and tarpon and has been fishing the Indian River since he was a little kid. Tight lines everyone and hope to see y'all on the water with us soon Ringing The Bell

February Snookie
Февраль 1, 2023
Yes the month of February is here and that means snook season has begun. From February 1st until June 1st we are allowed to keep (harvest) one snook per person, per day, between 28" & 32". It's no secret where the best place in our area is to catch snook, Sebastian Inlet. Sure enough opening day was a mad house out at the North Jetty. Opening week had some amazing weather, light waves, with a west wind made for a beautiful nearshore day. We got a late start for our morning trip on opening day and there had to be upwards of 25 boats fishing around the north tip of the jetty. It was unfortunate for us so we decided to go search for other species at the nearshore reefs. It hasn't been the most productive on the nearshore reefs lately, lots of bluefish and some lane snapper here and there. The next couple days we were able to get out a little earlier before the rush and secure our spot at the dinner table. We landed multiple snook as well as black drum, redfish, goliath grouper, tarpon, and endless amounts of jack crevalle. In that area it's all about positioning for the snook "The Angle of the Dangle". The next couple weeks look to be a little rough and wavey but if you can handle the rocking and rough water you'll have some awesome fish fights and probably bring home the prize. Not all people can handle that rougher water so we added in a new boat to the arsenal, a 21' Maverick flats boat. The flats boat allows us to get into the shallower waters along the mangroves and flats of the Indian River Lagoon and still have our chance to catch some trophy fish. In addition we've also added in some news things for our bowfishing trips. We have recently acquired some new bowfishing crossbows and let me just say these things are deadly and easy to use. For those of you that are not physically able to pull back a compound bow, not a problem now. The water levels in the St Johns River are lowering and starting to play in our favor making it easier to find the tilapia. The day trips are good, a little bit harder to see the fish depending on wind and sunlight, but night trips seem to be the most productive.

January Hot Bite
Январь 19, 2023
The start of the 2023 year has been amazing. With the north jetty at Sebastian Inlet still being closed, we have been spoiled with some amazing fishing out there. The full moon in January usually always brings in the black drum. The drum bite has been off the chain. Live shrimp has been the ticket for these drummers. Being able to get up close to the jetty without tangling up in the land fishermen's lines has been awesome. We've been able to land tons of keeper black drum along with some big sheepshead and a number of snook. Lately the flounder bite has started to get pretty good using live finger mullet or live shrimp. We've also had some great fights landing some smaller Goliath grouper ranging 40 to 80lbs. Bluefish are showing up as well along with spinner and blacktip sharks along the beach. Bowfishing trips have also been successful. We're still finding a bunch of big tilapia out in the Three Forks Marsh. The cold fronts kind of hurt us a bit. When the water gets chilly these fish like to go to deeper water to stay warm. The night trips seem to be a little more productive and easier to find the fish with the lights. We've added a new addition to the arsenal adding in a couple Viking Kingfish Crossbows. These crossbows are very easy to operate. This will help out the ladies and youngsters that aren't able to pull back the compound bows. We are also working on doing some bass fishing trips in the near future.

Happy New Year
Декабрь 29, 2022
It's right at the end of December 2022 and the fishing has been amazing. We had another great snook and redfish bite at Sebastian Inlet the last couple weeks. Snook sizes ranged anywhere from 25" to 35" fish. Most of the redfish were smaller sized fish around 25" to 30". Not sure where those big bull reds are hiding because they've been a little late to the party. Fortunately for us boat fishermen the north jetty is still closed so it is way more relaxing to fish out there. We can get up close to the jetty with live shrimp and pull fish one after another without any chaos. We've also had some good luck with sheepshead, black drum, and pompano out around the mouth out of the inlet. When you can find where they're schooling up, the snook bite has been pretty good as well on the inside of the inlet along the rocks along with an occasional flounder. Hopefully with this cold front we're having right now will kick those flounder into gear and we can start landing some nice Flatties. A really amazing trip we had the other day was when we ran up on a giant school of huge black drum in the rain. The school looked to have close to 200 fish all ranging from 40 to 60 lbs. My guys had some amazing fights boating 4 giant drum and losing 3 at the boat. We are now doing night and day time bowfishing on the airboat and that has been a whole new fun experience. We've been getting some giant tilapia out at Three Forks Marsh and some decent small Florida gar. The bowfishing is definitely not as easy as it looks but if you to take your time and aim you'll eventually get the hang of it. Bowfishing is probably the most exciting fishing I've ever done. Gift cards are still on sale until the end of January. Merry Christmas to everyone and Happy New Year

Merry Christmas 2022
Декабрь 4, 2022
December has started out as usual, windy, breezy, and blowing, with rough seas. Yeah it's been blowing but it doesn't stop us from getting out on the water. The winter season is pretty much strictly inshore / nearshore fishing. We usually only get a couple days out of the month that are calm enough to get offshore this time of year. The bite seemed to simmer down quite a bit after hurricane Nicole. The couple weeks after the storm the snook bite definitely slowed down since that hot October bite. November was good but not on fire like October. Hurricane Nicole caused the state park at Sebastian Inlet to shut down the north jetty for awhile so that has been very nice for us boat fishermen. December has started off pretty good for us so far. Haven't done to many trips but the ones we have done have went pretty good. Lots of fish caught from snook, reds, black drum, flounder, jack crevalle, and sheepshead. The outgoing tide at Sebastian Inlet has been loaded up with sharks on the rip. Decent sized bullsharks, black tips, and spinners have been cruising out in the current. Then there's also the goliath grouper. We usually don't have a problem with goliaths during the winter season but not this year. There are those resident mammoths that are now hanging out year round at the north jetty. When you hook up there's no playing around with your fish, get the net ready, reel fast, and get that baby in cause it will get gulped. Last month we were able to do our first bowfishing charter off the airboat and it went extremely well. The guys were able to shoot some large tilapia and had a blast doing it. I can't stress this enough how much fun bowfishing is, even if you're missing your shots it's still so much fun. We will also be adding in night bowfishing trips within the next week or so as well.

Blowvember 2022
Октябрь 29, 2022
Let me just start by saying Blowvember (November) is living up to it's name for sure. It's pretty much the second week of the month and winds are going to be ridiculous. From Sunday the 6th until Friday the 11th, the wind apps are saying 20 mph up to 60 mph with waves from 7 ft to 10 ft. We just went ahead and closed out the week due to the weather. This past October had to be the best month I've ever had as far as the snook bite goes. The snook were absolutely on fire at the inlet. Like I said in previous posts, 20 minutes and we were limited out on snook. Slot fish, after slot fish, after slot were being caught one after another. Between the boaters and the jetty we all definitely put a hurting on the snook population out there. It also had a lot to do with bait selection too. Those snook can be so picky but if you're throwing what they want it's game on. We've been using 8 to 10 inch mullet for the past 4 months and smoking the snook, then they switched to wanting pigfish, and in the last couple weeks it's been croakers. When that croaker would hit the water, just count to 5 and set the hook, it's been that quick. Got word on some pompano being caught in the river and lots of Spanish mackerel as well. The bull reds are showing up here and there at the inlet finally. We were able to land a couple 35" reds last week. Hopefully this tropical system doesn't bother us to bad and we can get back to slaying here shortly.
