What would you recommend to anglers fishing in Cape Canaveral, Florida for the first time?

The fish may or may not be biting well. Every outing may not be a large catch. The first hour of the 5-hour outing will be spent catching the bait and riding out to the fishing site. Just expect the actual fishing to be about 2.5 to 3 hours. Its all a part of a great experience.

The Captain and Crew were very friendly, helpful, and worked well with the kids. They took their time and explained every detail of the trip. We all had a great time, and would do it again given the chance.

Be prepared for extreme heat July and August unless your boat has air conditioning. Go down to the docks and see which boats are bring in fish, and talk to people after their trip in the parking lot.

Look for a boat that is big enough to handle big water. Pat's boat was very comfortable and handles big water great. Fishing isn't always successful every time but Pat and Chris worked hard and kept moving to get us on some fish. Highly recommend.

Read as many reviews as possible. Do a little side research on past bite activity. Make phone calls to the fishing charters that peak your interest.

Weather can be hit or miss this time of year is what we were told. Dress in layers, bring sunglasses.

Book with Jamie at Fin and Fly. Experienced fisherman that makes customers feel like a family member is taking them out.

Be prepared to catch all day, but lose a few to the sharks. Minor inconvenience for the quality of fishing.

Talk to the captain about expectations vs. what he thinks he can get you. They are very helpful and work together with other captains to see where they can go to make sure everyone is having fun.

I did not attend the trip - it was a surprise Birthday gift for my Brother. He and his friends said they had a great day although the waters were choppy.

Get plenty of sleep and drink plenty of water. It's a very physical sport and you will need all the energy you can.

It was pretty choppy and they had just had a tropical storm so the water was pretty murky and the fish were having a hard time seeing the line. Other than that, we had a good experience.

As I fished this area for the first time on this occasion, O can’t say. However it appears that one should expect high seas during the month of April.

Listen to your Captain. They know these waters like the back of their hand and have spent their entire lives on these waters.

watch the weather, as long as its warm fishing is good, but a cold snap can push the fish south for some time

Do a little research to make sure your fish are running, and find out where you need to be to successfully give your self a chance to catch them.

Best time is April and May. We had a great trip but a lot of the near shore fishing was not so great (for all the boats).

Bring right tackle, talk with locals about fish that are biting. Check 2 or 3 weather sites then dress for the weather and plan for changing conditions.

If there is a chance of getting sea sick take the meds early and give the crew of the Crude Intentions a try!!!

Great location. Only 40 minutes from Orlando and free parking. Very easy to find.

I would highly recommend the near shore wreck fishing experience for big, good fighting fish.
