My suggestion would be to start out simple, become familiar with the water body and I hire a captain and good luck.
The best advice would be contact the fishingbooker.com folks, hopefully you will get lucky with an old timer like Captain Tony
(same age as me by the way?
This day will go down as a special memory between my grandson and I can’t thank you enough

Melani Rosario
Relax, be open minded and just have fun. If you listen to exactly what the captain tells you, you will get a catch almost every time. If you don’t catch anything at least enjoy the experience. Happy fishing!

David Lanka
We were a couple of weeks early from a water temperature perspective for catching some of the larger species, but the captain knew we were looking to catch and release for fun, so he put us in perfect position to have constant action all day with the right locations, bait and setup. Communication in advance is important so you know what will likely be running during your trip in March because of the changeover in water temperature.

Tampa Bay Florida has one of the most beautiful pristine and preserved Fisheries any fishing fanatic or professional fisherman would want to to enjoy. And when you go fishing with a professional fishing charter like Captain Joe from sloppy joe fishing charters in Tampa Florida you can find yourself catching unbelievable record breaking number of fish like Snook redfish and jack crevalle just to name a few.

Bernhard C. Richard
Spend some thinking about what you expect and communicate in detail with the captain beforehand. Things you might have liked but not mentioned will probably not be prepared if you dont talk about it in advance.

If looking for a bigger boat to go out farther don't forget to ask about the boat lol I was expecting a bigger boat (didn't ask or specify) and wanted them to go further out but from the two boys point of view I got exactly what I wanted...a great experience...

Jay Sanders
Be sure and prepare for the sun exposure for the entire time you have chartered the boat for. Hats, long sleeves and high SPF sunblock is vital.

Katelyn Harnage
If it's cool out, bring a jacket/windbreaker for the times you're changing fishing spots because the wind can be cold.

John Obednikovski
Keep an eye on the weather forecast and prepare for the worst case scenario with choppy water and cooler temperatures.

Austin Dickey
Fishing was as expected in November. Not the best, but still caught 20-30 fish even with high wind and cold water.

Jason Hisey
Talk to the Captain before you book. Make sure your goals align with their skills and personality.

Peter Douglas
Fishing in Tampa is great this time of year, you just need a captain and a boat that is experienced and has ethics and ensures that their charter has a great experience and can catch some fish.

Christopher Deci
Be open to the advice of your charter captain. They should have serious expertise and knowledge in getting you the most out of your charter investment. If they don’t, hire Afishianado!

Edward Cigarran
If you fish in the summer, the best time is early morning. We started around 7:30am and if possible as soon as the sun rose. It gets really hot.

Justin Underwood
Was incredible early on, and then the heat came in. But it’s Florida in July, what do you expect! We had a blast

Charles McCrackin
Captain Chris said that July isn't the best time to catch a variety of fish. Contact him for more information if your dates are flexible.

Juan Gomez Maldonado
Listen to the captain.. Make sure you go with Bait-and-Bite with Captain Thomas Jacobson. Book the best he's Number One . I promise there ain't no one like him

Daryl Mitchell
We had a lot of reeled in fish and hits but can't speak to how it compares to other months. The captain did a good job putting us where we wanted to be.

Jazma Martinez
Check to see if any events going on before booking. There was a lot of boaters on the water. Which may have contributed to our limited catches.

Tracey Hansen
It was definitely a windy day but the weather is out of everyone’s control. Captain Tom led us to a few areas so we could catch a few different types of fish.

Sanniel Mowery
Try out a half day early morning fishing with Jesse - Poseidon Fishing Charter. You will have a great experience and make memories that will last a lifetime.

Steve Ruble
Communicate with your guide. Make sure you know where you are going to meet. Be prompt (early) and easy to go.
Then relax and enjoy the experience.

Jennifer DeWolfe
Book with Captain Tommy! He knows the waters and where to find the fish and will take care of everything to ensure you enjoy your trip.

Simon Sculthorp
Take sun cream and a hat as the sun can still burn. No head on board so use the bathroom before hand. Listen to the skipper as her knows what he’s doing.

Jeffrey Woody

Watch the moon . If it's a full moon the fish eat all night making them harder to catch during the day.

Call captains prior to going out to see current species, conditions… and how to pay captains because app can be confusing

Traci Garcia
Elk Grove Village, IL
Book the AM trip before the sun gets too hot. A tad cold heading out to the fishing spot but once settled it was a perfect weather.

Chad Thill
Charlotte, MI
Seeing dolphins and Manatee was also well worth the trip. The excitement of trying to catch the big one captain Dave was amazing. So much fun

Louis Stewart

You need to know the location and bait for catching the right species of fish. Local knowledge is important.

Captain Ike would be an excellent choice for a beginner and experienced person wanting to get out on the water
