If you do not fish in small boats on the ocean often, I would recommend getting something to avoid sea-sickness. My family typically is not prone to motion-sickness, but we sure got sea-sick this time. I'd do this trip again, but I'd take some kind of sea-sick medication first.

If the idea is to catch fish, there are definitely fish out there. The family that was out there on Captain Harry's boat before us caught four nice size tunas, we caught one. For us on our trip, the weather was great, the waves were not too high, no one got sea sick, and it was a great way to spend four hours.

Expect bumpy waters most of the year….For someone who fishes a lot on boats, in rough waters and never gets sick…This was not the more comfortable ride.

Ocean was rough so take Dramamine if you get motion sick easily. Sky was clear and overall the weather was great.

The water was a bit rough but our boat and the other boats in the region were pulling in some big tunas - up to 180 lbs.

Get in touch with Captain Austin from Aloha Kaua’i Sportfishing before the trip to be well prepared on what to expect.

Bring rain gear, it rained the entire trip. Not like in the North East were it’s cold but a light rain jacket would have been great.
