What would you recommend to anglers fishing in Pensacola, Florida for the first time?

I don't like fishing and it was the best time ever. They knew exactly where to take us to catch the fish. I caught a lot of fish. Put this on your "to do" list. Eric and Bobby are the best. Thank you both.

Do your research for the time of year you are going to see what is in season. Unless you are a season fisherman, all things can be boat locally so you don't have to lug it around or you can rent equipment. Alvin's island store is your friend.

Right time of year to land red snapper! Bring sunscreen and plenty of water or Gatorade, your favorite canned drinks (non alcoholic) to stay hydrated. Small snacks are all you need. Most of your time you’ll spend fishing or enjoying the boat ride. If you get seasick, plan to take Dramamine the night before and the morning of - the water can get choppy when you get out in deep water.

Be ready for anything! Our day was supposed to have perfect weather, but we still hit some major waves on our way to our spot! The fish are fun to catch and if you can keep them, they make for a great dinner!

Zeke's Landing has always been easy to work with and offered good charters. If you're wanting to catch Red snapper you should wait until June. If you're alright with some Kings, Spanish and vermilion snapper May will be alright for you.

Be sure to book before the end of red snapper season. We caught a lot of trigger fish which is normally open in August but is staying closed this year, which is unfortunate because we had to throw all of them back, but they were still fun to catch.

Make sure to check weather and connect with Captain before you go. Take a jacket, ride is chilly, even if sun is out.

Sunscreen, dramamine, water, clothes you don't mind getting dirty, sunglasses, a hat, and snacks depending on length of your trip.

Start small learn the species and the types of fishing and take your babies. We can never know what our experience will be but make the experience.

Go for a morning trip. Weather was nice and fish were really biting. By the time our trip was over it was already so hot

Do your research for fishing this time of year, read reviews of people who have taken the trip, know what to expect of the weather, talk to your captain once you have booked the trip

If you can find a reliable boat and good captain, fishing for red snapper is fun!

We didn't really catch a lot of fish that we could keep. But we had a fun time.

If you fish fresh water like I do in Michigan you are taught to set the hook you do not do that here you just reel in and sunblock.

Talk to your captain and make sure you are on the same page about who is going and if they are experienced enough to put you on your target fish.

Apparently, the deep sea ocean trips are the best way to go. We had fun fishing in the intracoastal area, but it seemed like the most and largest fish were on out a bit.

Captain Glen Flowers is excellent. Caught four man limit of nice red snapper on a windy day and was back at dock by 10:00 am.

You can fish off the beach or off a pier for free, but if you really want an experience, get a charter! We used Captain Bryant Fields and his charter All Caught Up. Went well for everyone!

Our December charter was after the peak of the Redfish season and early for the Sheepshead bite.

Fishing was not good but due to unusually heavy rain for a couple of days before the trip.

The designated dock we met our Captain was easily accessible. The people were polite and friendly.

Bring A LOT of water and ice! More than you think you need! Plus a lot of sunscreen.

Compared to to fishing in Panama City, I would happily return and fish-in in the Pensacola area.
