Oct 14 Today we went out deep-sea fishing off the coast of Fort Lauderdale with Anglia and Loren from Knoxville Tenn. We started out trolling the reef looking for some king fish or bonitos with 2 planner board running about 45 feet down and 3 baits skipping across the surface. At first fishing was slow but a bit of trolling it was the surface baits that paid off with Mahi mahi. Than we worked out way to a ship wreck where caught a few small bonitos and quickly set these live bonito out as live bait. And it paid off with Loren landing this big barracuda. Oct 134 WOW what a fun day today fishing off the coast of Fort Lauderdale. We set out fishing with John his wife Brook their daughter Ella and last but by all means not lease their son Easton. They came down from Knoxville Tenn. however they happen to be natives of South Florida and they miss going out fishing for some Mahi Mahi. So we all decided to go for it and heck yea the right choice was made once we got to about 800 feet of water sure enough the fish showed up and we started catching. Now truth being told here I’ve got to take a second once again (JOHN WHAT ARE YOU THINKINH!!) LOL while John was fighting this 30 plus pounder he stopped to put Easton on his lap to let him try to help and yep you guessed it fish got away. LOL John thanks again you and your family was a blast to fish with and we are looking forward to our next trip together.

Today we had a blast fishing with Brain and Danny from Minnesota. We went right to trolling in about 400 feet of water around all these schools of small tuna hitting on these minnows and while we knew that these tunas had their eyes set on these minnows and nothing else we were looking for what might be feeding on these tunas. So we set out 2 baits down deep and 3 baits skipping across the surface. First fish turned out to be a small tuna. But than one of our deep lines got hit and BAM a Mahi Mahi. Ok things were looking up when all of a sudden another Mahi BUT while they were reeling it in I got a hit on my high line and this fish started peeling off line. We were Hooked Up and soon enough this 30 pound Mahi was dancing all over the surface and now the real fight was on. After a good 20 min tug a war we landed this big Mahi. Guy’s thanks again for fishing with us aboard the Hooked Up. On a foot note I want to thank Fishing Booker for all their help keeping us charter boats busy during these trying ti\mes. Captain Taco

Today we went fishing with David and Vanessa from West Palm Beach. There down in Fort Lauderdale celebrating David’s B Day and fishing was part of their planes. Now as it turns out David is an avid fisherman and spends time in the Florida Keys fishing for tarpon with a fly rod but today he had a couple other fish he wanted off his bucket list. He was hoping to catch a black fin tuna a Mahia Mahia and if possible a sailfish. Well this was a tall order to fill I told him but we would do our best but I guaranteed a good time. But as we set off looking for a black fin ob a Mahia Mahia off shore thing started l;ooking pretty bad with the winds cranking at about 18 knots and to make matters worse the rain came and I mean it came down hard. It was looking like I was going to have a hard time just that guarantee about the good [email protected]%@%^* But we stuck it out trolling with 2 baits down deep and 3 baits skipping across the surface. Than all of a sudden bite on one of our deep lines and BAM 1 small black fin tuna in the box. A few minutes later another small tuna followed but a skip jack tuna than another. Ok the rain stopped and things were looking up when we got another bite on one of the deep lines BUT this time a Wahoo heck yea was not on the order but heck high 5s for every one. Ok now the rain was gone and we thought we would set out a couple kites with live bait suspended from them and that’s when thing really started hopping. A Mahia Mahgi and we were Hooked Up after a 5 min back and forth tug a war fish in box!!! Yep we got what they ordered but wait we were still fishing and here comes another Mahia and yep another they were biting and we were having a ball. Then out of nowhere popped up a sailfish and yep the fight was on. 20 min later David had this 6 foot sailfish to the boat. We got a few pictures with the sail still in the water then we released this beautiful fish to fight again another day. Today started out with 4 to 5 foot seas and slows fishing BUT some how by the grace of good thing took a big turn for the better. We had some of the unthought-of heroes (Truck Drivers) and when you think about it with out them we would have no food, medicine, appliances ECT so yea these guys are heroes in their on right. We had Albert who brought along his 3 sons Ripton, Omar and Owen along with close friends of the family Sean and Normun. Eating fish was the target today so we headed right off shore looking for some Mahi Mahi but only catching a couple small black fin tunas. Ok time for plane B so we headed in to fish some of our local wrecks but it just was not panning out for us so we were just going to make a move to another wreck when here came this gift from god a school of Mahi and the chaos began. Fish in the water all around the boat lines get tangled with each other BUT fish were hitting the deck and man was it a ball. Soon the school of Mahi left and we were just about to do the same when BAM here they came again only by now everyone was getting the hang of it and fish were now coming into the boat one after another. We finally did find some nice almaco jacks on the bottom and the box looked real good at this point with more than enough eating fish for everyone and some extra for the freezer.
