I am so glad that I booked a fishing trip with Captain Robert of Gone Fishing Barcelona. All communications were prompt, accurate, and helpful. We used electric reels to help make fishing in very deep water quite accessible and easy. Captain Robert is very knowledgeable of the local fish species and how to catch them. We caught many different species which I’ve never caught before because I’ve never fished in the Mediterranean. I highly recommend going fishing with Gone Fishing Barcelona.

Had a great fishing experience with Capt. Robert! Although the day was a bit windy, it didn’t stop us from catching fish. Robert was kind and helpful while using his electric reels, which I had never used before, and proved to be very useful and effective, as we caught several kinds of fish, including a very big conger eel, moray, big red snapper, scorpionfish, sea bream… I highly recommend fishing with him! Great day with Robert and first mate Javi. I am also a charter Captain in Boston, Massachusetts and fish for Bluefin Tuna so can say with authority that Robert is very knowledgeable Captain when it comes to finding and catching Bluefin Tuna. We fished for bait, trolled out to a location that he knows very well and was productive. We chummed and the fish came just as he predicted and we hooked up with a giant. We were targeting the most likely fish in the range of 50 kilograms, so we were using lighter line as they tent to be line shy, but we got lucky (and unlucky) because a giant tuna took the bait and broke the leader. As I have much experience fishing for Bluefin, this is not an uncommon occurrence, these are big powerful fish and test the best of equipment and perspiration and the the equipment (Shimano Tiargra 80W), line and crimps are all top notch. Captain Robert was happy to talk to me about Barcelona and Spain in general and is very personable and bilingual. Highly Recommend!

Robert is a great and very experienced captain. He also wad very responsive before the trip and he recommended that we rearranged the trip 1 day before because of the weather conditions. It all worked perfectly. The only negative point I have was that he told us he has snacks and the only snacks he had were olives and chips, which of course do the job. But still i recommend bringing a sandwhich or something of your own, because you will get very hungry on a 8 hour trip!

We had a tremendous time fishing with ‘Gone Fishing’ in Barcelona.
Caught two big Bluefin Tuna’s - 140 and 180 pounds. It was just catch and release, so we got them close to the boat, took a few pictures, and let them go.
We also trolled and caught some Mahi Mahi - which are always fun.
I highly recommend fishing with these guys!
