Captain Jeff worked hard and was friendly and fun to talk with. We cut up and had a good time. He put us on fish but all except one didn’t measure up. The one was a stud whiting and we caught probably 4-5 flounder and 4-5 reds. We had one larger fish that gave a good fight but got off right under the boat. Hurricane Lee was off shore and the day we went the bite was tough. We will be contacting Reel Salty Captain Jeff again as I feel like he gave it his all, is a down home sincerely friendly person and is a knowledgeable fishing guide but the day was just not the best.

We took a 5 hour trip with Captain Bob.  We trolled for King Mackerel and came back with 2 nice fish and also fished on the bottom and put many different kinds of fish in the boat.  Our 7 year old was able to reel in one of the two King Mackerel.  Captain Bob was very good at explaining the tactics of each way of fishing.  He was also really good at helping our 7 year old fish and keeping an eye on him. Captain Bob cleaned our fish and explained the best ways for it to be cooked.  Would highly recommend Captain Bob and Reel Salty.

We had booked a 8 hour Deep Sea fishing, but due to mother nature causing 4-6 ft waves we stayed about 3-4 miles away from shore and cut the trip down to 5 hours. This was no one’s fault but mother nature. We still fished for over 3 hours, had 7 bites, caught 2. We caught a King Mac and a Shark but threw them both back, we had another we were bringing in and it got off the line.  We had a good time, but we did get beat up by the waves even as close as we were. I would love to do it again when the waves are better. Captain was awesome, very knowledgable about everything associated with the trip. He actually gave us some good advice and where to hang out after the trip.

My wife and daughter and I had a great trip with Captain Bob. I’ve been out on other charter boats before and wasn’t too impressed. It was not a good time/season to be fishing but, he made sure we got fish in the boat. I like how he catered to everyone and made sure that everyone reeled in a fish.

Jeff Maples was as hospitable as anyone could be. His boat, gear and plan to fish was right on target. We felt right at home fishing with him and shared many personal stories. Jeff definitely knows the inlet and understood our inshore fishing request for such. We will return to fish w Jeff again!
