I've been fishing the local waters with my father since I was old enough to hold a rod and reel. I am a full time charter boat captain and the owner/operator of Scallywag Charters. We strive to make every trip memorable and will always go the extra mile to ensure your fishing charter is great because we want to be a part of your vacations to Destin, FL.

We do mainly inshore bay fishing and kid friendly fishing charters. Our goal is to have a great time while on the water and to try to bring something home for dinner. We try to accommodate your goals as much as possible and match the fish to the angler the best we can.

This is a collection of photos from our most recent catches so far this March! The bite started off slow due to the cold fronts moving through the first couple weeks this month. Afternoon bites were consistently better than the mornings for the first couple of weeks this month. Around the 20th we started to have more luck in mornings and the afternoon bite stayed consistent. The wind seems to pick up more in the afternoons now. It sometimes limits where we can fish unfortunately. We saw redfish, black drum, sheepshead, black snappers, spanish mackerel, speckled trout and permit these past 3 weeks.

Here are some of our most recent catches inshore in the Choctawhatchee Bay and around the Destin Harbor at Scallywag Charters! This is a taste of what to expect when fishing on our charters in the summer months. Fun for all ages! These were on our 3 hour kids fishing trips and 4-5 hour inshore bay fishing trips. These fishing trips were run in the morning, midday and late afternoon times.

These fish were all caught over the last couple of weeks! The better the weather gets, the better the fishing has become. Our inshore bay fishing charters and kids fishing trip are a great opportunity to spend half a day making great memories and fishing in some of the most beautiful locations that Fort Walton Beach and Destin Florida have to offer! These trips are great for all ages and all experience levels are welcome! You can expect to live bait or artificial fish in grass flats, docks, bridges and other structures with light tackle. Each vessel can hold a maximum of 6 passengers. Right now inshore you can expect to target redfish, speckled trout and sheepshead. We have been seeing spanish mackerel in the bay recently
