My husband, 9yr old daughter, 12yr old son and I did a 1/2 day afternoon trip over our Spring Break. It was a great day! Captain Brian was so easy to work with and to communicate with before the trip. When we got to the mariana and said we were going on the Apex we were told it was a, “fishing boat and we would have fun.” They weren’t joking! We were constantly catching fish all afternoon! If things slowed down, Captain Brian was moving us to a better spot. Captain Brian and Gavin were both so patient and helpful as we were learning. Gavin had bait and a new rod ready to go as we were reeling in a fish so we were back in the water in seconds. On the way back, Gavin filleted all the fish we were able to keep and they gave us tips on how to cook it up. We can’t wait to book with them again! 10/10 we recommend Fishing Charters of San Diego!

We had a fabulous experience.  There were 5 work colleagues along with my step daughter’s fiancé. (He hooked a shark!!!) We all caught a few fish and had 10 whitefish to keep for dinner. Yummy! 
Gavin and Brian were patient and hospitable!  It was well worth it! I hope to book another charter soon!

My 5 hour trip with Brian and his crew was a blast. I battled sea sickness the majority of the time but the guys didn’t let that stop the fun. I fought through and they put me on some good sharks. Equipment was sufficient and had a set up ready to go for any size of shark sited. The site fishing aspect was a BLAST and even though we couldn’t get the biggest ones sited hooked up, my heart has never raced more with a baited line in the water. Makos are understandably not an easy fish to handle so this trip is for the pure thrill from the fight of a top of the chain predator so this isn’t the trip for family photos and fish to take home: nonetheless, if you want a once in a lifetime experience with expensive gear and an expensive vessel then allot yourself about 3 hours per person who wants to hook into a shark. There was 2 of us and we hooked into 2 sharks, and had the opportunity for 2 more. Don’t cheap out and book some good hours with these guys and you’ll have a great story of an adventure to cherish and share. This was so much fun even sick as a dog the whole time! I recently had the pleasure of going on the Apex with Nick, Gavin, and my family. I have to say, it exceeded all of our expectations. Not only were we able to catch some great fish, but the crew went above and beyond to make sure that we had a memorable experience.

Unfortunately, some of my family members started to feel motion sick during the trip, which caused us to cut the trip short. But the crew was incredibly caring and accommodating, doing everything they could to help ease their discomfort and make sure we were all comfortable and safe.

Despite the shortened trip, we all had a great time and were so grateful for the crew’s kindness and professionalism. I would highly recommend this fishing charter to anyone looking for a fun, relaxing, and well-run experience on the water. They truly went above and beyond to make our day special, and we can’t thank them enough for that. I can’t wait to visit again.
