- Captain Mike was born in New Iberia, Louisiana, and grew up fishing with his family and friends. He bought his first boat at 15, and his second at 18. No opportunity to go fishing (or hunting) was ever wasted. Mike would even fish from the oil rigs he worked on after high school while saving money for college. And his mechanical engineering studies at Georgia Tech didn't stop him from fishing around Atlanta, Georgia's lakes, and the Atlantic Coast. Captain Mike continued to fish wherever he traveled away from Atlanta. Family vacations always included fishing day(s). When he moved to Florida in 2012, he started fishing Homosassa and Citrus County. He couldn't believe the similarities to Louisiana and knew he had to make Citrus County his forever home.

- Sight fishing the grass flats along the Nature Coast with fly or light tackle from a poling skiff is a team effort. Staying calm while getting closer to cast is only the first step of the process. There's nothing like seeing a fish take the bait. However, it's also just as fun to blind cast around structure because you never really know what you're going to catch. The Nature Coast is home to many fish species including Tarpon, Redfish, Seatrout, Snook, Flounder, Mangrove Snapper, Grouper, Cobia, Spanish Mackerel, King Mackerel, Jack Crevalle, Bluefish, Tripletail, Sheepshead, Black Drum, White Trout, Bonita, and more.
