I booked our half day trip as a surprise for my husband and 8 year old son who love fishing.  I looked through all of the listings of available Charters and their reviews trying to pick the perfect one.  Richard’s response time to my questions was unmatched. He was thorough and flexible which put my mind at ease when booking this from a far.  He gave me very clear instructions of where to meet the morning of our trip and was there ready to go when we got there.  He worked hard the entire trip keeping the poles set up & moving us around to try different places.  He was very knowledgeable, friendly and easy going. We loved learning about the area and fishing from him.  My son enjoyed watching the screen that showed the depth & fish below. We caught a bunch of fish which was the icing on the cake. When we got back to the dock, Richard took time showing my son how he was fileting the fish we decided to keep. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience & will definitely book again if we’re in the area again.

Richard was a great captain and host. Richard hosted myself along with my grandfather and two friends out for some strip bass. We each were able to catch some fish (I caught two), Richard was persistent in searching for the fish whether checking the fish finder or using binoculars to locate where the fish maybe feeding. Richard put forth his best effort to ensure we had a good comfortable trip trip.

My son and I were taken on July 15th by Captain Richard on his boat to fish in the Chesapeake Bay with the goal being to catch legal size Rockfish. Instead, we caught only legal size Catfish (about ten) and three undersized Rockfish. My son caught about ten fish with assistance from Captain Richard. My son was very appreciative for the Captain’s fishing lessons, proud of himself for catching that many fish, and elated about experiencing such a memorable trip, After the trip, my son expressed how happy he was for the opportunity to fish with Captain Richard, how much he liked Captain Richard, and how much he appreciated all the Captain had done to make his trip pleasurable. One lesson learned by my son was that one cannot get everything he wants in life. Though one may have all the tools to catch them, large Rockfish are not easy to catch. Once again, we thank Captain Richard for taking us on the trip. He was an excellent skipper, fun to talk with, and very thoughtful about our needs.

A late Father’s Day experience - a chartered fishing trip.  We caught so many fish - 2 at a time on each rod all pulling up together! We didn’t keep them all, but some we even used as bait for a big catch.  It was a great day and we were so happy to give my husband such a nice day doing something he loves and to share that with the boys. 
Our captain Richie Phippin with nauti hooker charters was amazing. He was friendly and knowledgeable, helping our 9yo, answering all of his questions, and taking us all over the bay to try different kinds of bait for different kinds of fish.

Everything was perfect - we went for our son’s birthday and the captain made sure everyone had what they needed. Our son had a great time but both our kids raved about the trip the whole way home. You don’t need to bring anything but food and water. Parking was easy and there is clear and constant communication the days before. The captain was fun and just seemed like the nicest and beat guy!
