Highly impressed with Line Check Charters. Scheduled to go out on Sunday for 6 hrs and got a call from Captain Mike letting us know that our initial plan of going out to the rigs was going to be in jeopardy because of weather forecast. He wanted to make sure that we were ok with a possible alternative plans. Expectations were set to exactly what was delivered. The weather was very windy chance with chance of bad weather. Eric was very upfront and knowledgeable of exactly what it was going to be like.
We all agreed that staying nearshore would be the best. They wanted to leave the dock at 6:30. They left at 6:29. We were fishing at 7:00.
What was so impressive was the network of Captains. Eric was working with us as we fished and in the down times calling other Captains checking other locations so he would not waist time traveling. Eric has decades of experience on the Gulf and told us based on his experience this is what we should do. We listened. As you can see from the pictures we hit a grand slam. The Monster Red Fish Drum (48.5 inches) is a once in a life time catch. The other Red Fish Bull Drum (over 30 inches) in the video would have made any fisherman feel like they had a great day. The Black drum was also over 30 inches and was released. We also caught several catfish. The key was listening to our expert guide. If you have an opportunity to fish with Line Check Charters listen to your Captain. You could have a trip of a life time. Based on the advice of Eric, we are now planing a 12 our trip with the same group of friends and Line Check Charters next year.

I highly recommend this company.  Their communication leading up to the trip was amazing, thoughtful and very much appreciated.  The weather conditions were not favorable leading up to our trip on 3/29, so Captain Eric reached out to find out what we wanted to do.  He shared that because of the high winds that our original plan of small rod fishing would not be enjoyable, and recommended big rod fishing for black drum and red drum.  Even in these unfavorable conditions, Captain Eric was able to make it a great trip.  We caught 8 black drum and 2 red drum on the trip…thanks for a great day!!

Eric called me the day before just like the booking said he would. He told me what to expect and everything was true to his word. But he put us on some nice speckled trout and then we caught two nice reds and one of our group caught a sting ray. It was an AWESOME experience and a bucket list item of mine and he helped it come true. THANK YOU, CAPTAIN ERIC!!!!!! I highly recommend this company.

We spent 2 half day trips out with Captain Eric. His equipment is impeccable. His knowledge of the fishery is impressive. He worked extremely hard both days to keep us on fish, and did an amazing job as you can see from the pictures. I would highly recommend him as a guide. Let him know what you’re looking for and he will do his best to put you on it if it’s possible. We bagged several Trophies and had a trip of a lifetime. Thanks Eric.

My wife surprised me with an amazing day of fishing with Capt Mike for my 50th birthday. We are from Virginia and didn’t know anything about Galveston fishing. I am so glad that she chose Capt Mike for our charter. He knows where the fish are how to catch them. We had other boats around us and they weren’t catching anything. We had 3 bull reds in the boat within 30 minutes of dropping anchor. Amazing time and fight. We got taught some nautical history which was pretty cool. All the equipment is top notch and well taken care of. The team, I say that cause it felt like we were a team. Lol, ran a jump pack to another charter that had a dead battery. Never once did we feel like we would have issues and felt very safe. Oh and by the way Billy was a naming mate. Always there to give a helping hand regardless of the situation. Be sure to tip them well as they really do deserve it. We will definitely be back, next time we are taking a bean bag ride and going after the “big ones”
