Have patience and let the Captain and Crew do what they do to find the fish. The weather can be fickle in September so prepare yourself for the unpredictability of such.

I was told we got on the black tuna better than other trips lately so we were happy. Unable to locate any Mahi and will book in May or June as they migrate and aren’t many left down here right now. Near the tail end of the season for mahi. But the tuna was just down right fun.

Captain Chase and Zac were outstanding! They were so knowledgeable and worked so hard to make sure we all caught fish… We will definitely be fishing with them again… Thank you guys!!!!

We were well prepared by bringing a cooler with plenty of variety of snacks, we had perfect weather. Although hot, but that's what you expect at the end of July. My wife and Son took one dose of motion sickness med and were fine, just to ensure they would be fine. They were too busy catching fish to experience anything but adrenaline.

Be prepared for rolling waves and water. It can be choppy at times and it’s a long ride out for offshore to catch mahi

Only thing to keep in mind is that it is *hot* and boats have limited shade. Sunscreen, water, hats, sunglasses are a must.

For those fishing in Islamorada for the first time, I'd say you’re in for a treat. Known as the fishing capital of the world, the area is teeming with fish. It's a good idea to hire a local expert. I highly recommend Capt Jason Katsikas who can show you the best fishing spots and share some expert tips. Enjoy your fishing adventure!

Definitely worth it, and the water extremely calm for anyone who is not a fan on being on a boat.

Always awesome but weather plays a part. Be ready to change it up and go after different species. Can’t be butthurt if you don’t catch exactly what you’re thinking you want to catch. Just have fun and remember it’s fishing not catching…if these guys jobs were easy we would do it ourselves.

Very hot but enjoyable. Excellent variety of fish to be caught and not too crowded at sea with too many boats.

Be flexible. The mahi mahi bite was not happening so we switched to reef fishing

Understand fishing season if you’re trying for certain fish verse just fishing! We had success for our age kids, however are not professionals or sport fishing.

The weather was the biggest deterrent factor in making this a great fishing trip. We had a great outcome in spite of the inclement weather conditions thanks to the skills and abilities of Captain Tony and his crew. The Singing Reel vessel was ideal to keep us dry and comfortable with its spacious and air conditioning cabin.

My recommendations for someone being a first time fisherman to Islamorada remember, you are in one of the best bodies of water for fishing. Your captain has been on that water way more than most, and he will do his best to put you on Fish the equipment that we used and the knowledge that we had with us in the boat on our captain he did a great job putting us on Fish

Book early because May is a great month to fish in FL. Also, early morning trips are cooler in May. Wear hats, sunscreen, wear long sleeve SPF shirts. And remember, you don’t always catch fish, or as many fish, or as big a fish as you’d like. The ocean is a big place and fishing is unpredictable. Most fishing guides will work very hard to put you on fish - that’s how they make their living.

If you have the chance definitely book with singing reel charters! They were very hospitable and had plenty of water and other hydration options. Tony and Travis blended well with our group and they are the most down to earth guys you can ask for who work hard to make sure everyone has a great experience.

Practice your double haul and be prepared for wind and low hanging branches

Definitely go for the Islamorada hump, and fish with Easy does it Islamorada

Listen to your Capt recommendation. I said the trip was appropriate for children because the Capt was excellent. The weather and sea this day would not have been.
