A trip as short as 100 miles from Miami could take you to Bonefishing heaven, lush with thousands of square miles of productive sandy flats and seagrass beds beneath just inches of crystal clear water.
Whether you choose the closest island of Grand Bahama, Abaco, Nassau, Andros or some of the smaller Outer Islands, you'll get to go after schools of 1000+ 3-5lbs Bonefish or stalk down those elusive individuals in the double digit weight category. All this most likely about a 100 yards away from where you're staying.

I fish a lot and the one thing I would recommend is to bring some ice to ice down your catch and keep it fresh. Its not so bad to not have ice on a 4 hour charter but I would definitely recommend bringing ice for the fish if you do a whole day charter.

Many of the charters are overpriced. $6-700 is fair for half day. $800 and up is ludicrous. If people stop overpaying the prices will moderate.

The only problem is we visited in early June which was sort of the rainy period in the Bahamas. I highly recommend the fishing there but I would go outside of May/June.

Well I’m not an experienced fisherman, but if you want a fun time for teens somewhat experienced for fishing this is the charter. Really helped and taught them.

The water gets deep closer to shore than you think. It is a short trip to deep water, a 4 hour trip is efficient. Reel that fish in quick, sharks will snag your fish before you know it.

The inshore reef fishing, bonefish on a fly rod and snapper with a bait caster, was a great experience. So many types of fish, but not enough time to catch them. There is also so much more to the trip than just fishing. The ecology of the area is incredible, sharks, rays tarpon, barracuda, turtles.. Not to mention the most beautiful water I've ever seen, and I have fished in many places in the world. My fun meter was pegged.

Spend a little extra and go for a bigger boat. We had a 55 foot boat for 6 of us and I'm glad we went bigger instead of less expensive
