You have to cover a lot of ground, and you still might not find them (speaking from significant experience working the waters of the Hawaiian Islands). Similarly, the reef is teeming with pretty little fish when you go snorkeling, but there is not a huge abundance of predators; that's why there are so many pretty little fish!

Franck was an excellent captain and we had a great time on his boat around Moorea. We fished a mix of along the reef and off shore and were lucky to catch plenty of dinner and a Blue Trevally which has always been on our wish list. Franck was very friendly and accommodating and worked hard the entire trip to follow the fish. We would definitely recommend this charter!

Everything was great, caught some fish nothing too big but I wasn’t looking to catch anything huge just wanted to catch something! Captain will make time for what you want to catch & isn’t scared to continue in the rain. Multiple different methods of fishing were used during our trip which lent to catching several different kinds of fish!

We had a great time fishing with Matahi - unfortunately, we didn't catch any fish, but it was nice to be out on the water. We saw a lot of Moorea from a different perspective and learned a lot about the island from Matahi.

Une belle sortie avec mes 2 garçons par une météo favorable. Franck est un bon pédagogue et a pris le temps d'expliquer les différentes méthodes de pêche le long du récif. Quelques jolis poissons de récifs ont fait partie de la cueillette de la matinée, merci beaucoup Franck.

Took a family trip fishing- sons 12 and 13 + wife. Captain Guile (so?) and first mate Tau got us on a monster marlin in less than an hour. It took everyone in the boat to pull that fish in. 3+ hours later, we finally landed it- a 10’, 500+ lb monster!! So fun, great crew, epic memories!! Thank you MFA!!

We had a great morning fishing with Captain Nico! We only caught two small tuna, but enjoyed spending the morning on a boat nonetheless. Nico is friendly and knowledgeable, and we would recommend this experience!

Nino was a pleasure to meet, unfortunately the fish were off the bite and we didnt see any action. it was a great day on the water - would love to see more action with rod and reel in hand with waste harnesses, the stationary rod set up was not ideal. i would be interested on having another crack at it in the future

We loved our half day trip! Captain Matahi was a wonderful host and very friendly. We caught skipjack tuna which he filleted beautifully for us. One of the best days of fishing we’ve ever had.

We had the best time! Captain Mathi and first mate Ernesto were just lovely humans to begin with nevermind being wonderful fishermen, conversationalists and hosts. We enjoyed catching two skipjack tuna and spending the day on the boat. They took us to a reef where we got to swim after fishing. We pet rays and saw lots of reef fish and sharks. A great way to spend a day!

We had such an amazing time with Matahi and Benji that we booked a trip to go again the next day. Not only was the fishing amazing, but getting to see pieces of the real Moorea and just simply enjoying our time in the sea with great company was an unmatched experience that has us wanting to book another ryrio back as soon as possible. If you're even remotely considering booking a fishing tour on the island, book with these guys! You won't regret it..
