Hop aboard “Marshland Expeditions”, family-friendly charter specializing in inshore fishing surrounding the Poquoson Flats, Virginia! Captain Sonny Insley is a local guide with over 5 decades of experience at the helm. A day out with him in this stunning fishing destination is one you won’t soon forget!

Hop aboard his 19’ Carolina Skiff, powered by a 50 HP Yamaha engine, and ideal for up 3 anglers. She’s equipped with GPS to help you find the fish and life jackets for safety. What’s more, she has an anchoring system to make sure you stay put once you spot your targets.

You’ll cruise the inshore waters in Poquoson, chasing the best fish the area has to offer. It’s all about hooking into delicious Flounder, Redfish, and Speckled Trout. Besides the great fishing, you’ll take in the beautiful scenery of Poquoson’s shoreline – you won’t want to forget your camera!

Captain Sonny is a great teacher. He’ll provide all the gear you need for a productive day and share his knowledge to help you land the big ones. experience. He can even accommodate fly fishing, provided you bring your own equipment.

Bring along any drinks and snacks you’d like to enjoy and prepare for the East Coast fishing adventure of a lifetime!

Captain Sonny Insley has over 50 years of experience on the water. His passion began at an early age of 6, when his father, a professional fisherman, took him fishing. An avid angler, Sonny grew up on the boat. He wanted to start his own charter company and in 2009 attended the Chesapeake Marine Training Institute to get the Coast Guard License. For Captain Sonny, the charters are not only about catching big fish. He enjoys the beauty and peace of being on the water.
