We had a good group of guys from North Florida that wanted some meat to take back home. We had great conditions and calm seas so I suggested we do a little daytime swordfishing. On our way out to the sword grounds we were hunting for some mahi mahi. We caught a cooler full of nice schoolie size dolphin and it was off to try our luck with a swordfish. Our first drop and about a half hour later we hooked up! We fought her for about an hour and a half and got her in the boat. She was about **hidden content** lbs and we were set!! We looked for more mahi on the way home, caught a few but no big ones. We ended the day with 17 mahi and a ton of swordfish steaks. Our swordfish filled over 3, five gallon buckets with nothing but swordfish steaks!!! Our guys had never fought a swordfish before and ended up catching a fish of a lifetime.
