Mudbug Charters practices catch & release on all inshore trips to help protect the populations of species in the marsh but is happy to take lots of pictures to help preserve your memories. Capt. Danny has a lifetime of experience and can help, no matter your skill level. Mudbug Charters utilizes the best gear with Fenwick, Daiwa, and Penn spinning gear as well as Sage fly rods and reels to help you deliver perfect presentations in all situations.  Book today for an unforgettable inshore fishing experience. You’ll fish from a 23’ Sea Hunt bay boat. It has dedicated seating for up to 5 guests, runs on a 200hp Yamaha motor, and uses modern GPS and fishfinder technology that allows for a safe and quick trip to the fish. For comfort, the boat features a T-top for shade and misters to keep you cool and is equipped with a wireless trolling motor and livewells.

Captain Danny will help you catch Flounder, Spotted Seatrout, Redfish, Sheepshead, Black Drum, Seabass, and more. Fly gear is available upon request, if the conditions are conducive to it. Kids are more than welcome to join the trip.

The captain covers you for all the fishing gear you’ll need, bait if necessary, as well as licenses. The only things you should bring are your favorite snacks and drinks.

Captain Danny grew up fishing in St. Simons Island, Georgia as a child. He received his first fly rod as a gift when he was 9 years old and the rest is history. He's been in the fishing tackle industry for over a decade and made the shift to full-time guiding in 2020.

Winter is waning and spring conditions are showing up in the marsh right now! Gauges show water temps in the low 60s right now but sun and warm weather have the shallow flats a bit higher than that. While most schools if redfish are still intact, their appetite has been noticeably increasing! Were starting to see bait show up more prominently and redfish have been much more active and aggressive in the shallows. This makes for really exciting activity around lower tide stages and catch rates have been improving nicely! Its a great time to book a trip before the crowds start hitting the water!
