If you’re ready to get hooked on fishing in Panama City, book a trip with Pearl Islands Charter Company.
Your guide for the day is Captain Rolando, bringing aboard years of local experience.
Local species include Amberjack, Pacific Barracuda, Bonito, Mahi Mahi, Broomtail Grouper, Almaco Jack, Jack Crevalle, Roosterfish, Sailfish, Sierra Mackerel, Cubera Snapper, and more with any luck.
You can expect to do some spinning, popping, trolling, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area. Any fish within the legal limit are yours to take with you. Plus, you can have your catch cleaned.
Your next meal doesn’t get any fresher than that!
Thinking of bringing the whole family? Kids are absolutely welcome! If you don’t have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there’s one on board. Snacks are also a good idea so that nobody gets cranky on an empty belly!
Your fishing machine for the day is a 31’ Bertram 31 sportfishing vessel with room for 7 passengers. It has outriggers, downriggers, and everything you need for a productive day on the water. There’s a toilet on board for your convenience. Capt. Rolando has rods and reels for you, as well as lures. Live bait is on offer, but you should ask the captain whether you’ll be catching it yourself.
There will be a First Mate on board to help your trip run smoothly. Mates often work for tips and it’s customary to offer them a 10–20% tip.
There’s no need to buy a fishing license, just show up ready for some fishing!
Keep in mind that you may release some fish due to regulations. Your captain will help you follow regulations while you fish.
You can’t go wrong when you bring sunscreen (non-spray) and sunglasses. Cold water will be available on board, feel free to bring with you any beverages and food of your choice. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
Tight lines!
