We went on a catfish fishing charter with Capt. Rich. This is mainly for my 9 year old who really wanted to catch something other than the largemouth he gets in the community ponds. He had a such a great time that we ended up booking two more trips right there. Capt. Rich ensured that my son did most of the work. While waiting for the catfish to bite he shared/showed us plenty of tips that we could take back to the community ponds. It was not only fun but a wonderful learning experience too for both of us. Highly recommend Capt. Rich and we’ll definitely be back for more.

This was our first time on the Potomac since we moved to Northern Virginia, and we hit the jackpot finding Osprey Fishing Charters! We knew late June with the heat may have presented a challenge, but Captain Rich knew the river and we found fish! First time fishing for small mouth, and we learned so much. He took the time to explain the area and we got to try out all different kinds of baits and lures.  Grabbed lots of small mouth and even a couple catfish.  We can’t wait for the next trip!!

Took my grandson (age10) on his first fishing trip. It was a great day weather wise and Captain Rich was more than accommodating teaching grandson about the different species of fish as well as things like the different tides, etc…Captain gave him very good direction on the proper ways to fish with the lures we were using and the grandson picked it up quickly. We started with catfish in the morning than went to shad in the afternoon. All total, the grandson caught 43 fish himself including 4 doubles of the shad. I would definitely recommend fishing with Captain Rich for his knowledge of fishing and his teaching skills with the younger fishing crowd. I’m sure it was a day my grandson will never forget or myself either.  A+

My buddy and I are mediocre fishermen. We learned by ourselves from the internet and YouTube. We wanted someone who could help us learn from our mistakes and the teach us the local area. Captain Rich was the perfect person to book because he is passionate about helping newbie and even advanced anglers how to become better fishermen.

He showed us a diverse range of techniques (ned rig, crankbaits, spinnerbaits, chatterbaits, neko rig, Florida rig, Blade baits), seasonal patterns and species patterns (catfish, shad, snakehead, largies and smallies). Not only did he say what to do, but WHY to do it, which is as important.

We walked away significantly better anglers. We also caught catfish, shad, and a couple largemouth on a day when no other boat we saw get a bite.

Looking forward to booking Osprey again in the future.

Captain Rich was awesome to fish with. He was extremely patient with my son(and with me ?). We put over 40 smallmouth on the boat today. He is very organized and professional. I would highly recommend booking a trip with him.
