Cannot speak highly enough of Dustin and his guys Tyler and Owen! This was an incredible experience. Dustin and his team are extremely knowledgeable and personable and answered every question we had from regular fishing to shark fishing. Had only been shark fishing a couple times before but they made it so easy and fun. Dustin’s equipment was exceptional and took care of all the casting and baiting for us. We had several runs and brought in 2 sharks - 1 was 6 ft long. This experience is worth every penny! Highly highly recommend for any one interested in shark fishing from novice to experienced

We highly recommend the beach fishing with New Smyrna Beach Shark Hunters. Location was convenient and easy to get to. The crew was friendly and personable, and we felt like we had made good friends by the end of the night. While we didn’t catch our target, it certainly wasn’t for lack of trying.  The crew worked hard from the start, right up to the last minutes. We had a great time, and will try again, hoping for less wind and current.  Overall, a terrific experience!

I have been out with Dusty several times while it’s not guaranteed you will catch something (it’s called fishing not catching for a reason) you will always have a good time with this crew. They arrive with everything you need to hang out on the beach and have a good time while you wait for a bite. They bring chairs, drinks, music, and if it’s cool enough outside maybe even the fire pit. We used the chairs for all of about 3.5 minutes, but they were comfortable. Dusty is always full of good conversation and happy to answer any questions about shark fishing or fishing in general. He is truly passionate about what he does.
Whether you catch fish or not you will undoubtedly have a great time. There is a reason we came back to fish with Dusty. The sharks help, but the crew is always fantastic.

What an amazing time my grandson and I had when we went shark fishing with Captain Dustin Smith. We both thoroughly enjoyed the warm camaraderie we experienced with the Captain and his VERY knowledgeable assistant. Of course the highlight of the evening was catching a fat shark that took a lot to pull in to the shoreline. But besides that Captain Dustin is the perfect man to talk with. He could talk about almost any subject and he did - with the boys with us and the adults. We asked many questions about sharks and left with a head full of details about different sharks, what they eat, when they arrive in NSB, and why they chose the location they did. This man is very friendly and very easy to talk to. We all felt very comfortable talking with him and he seemed to enjoy our company. The night we chose to go fishing it was raining a lot. We were all soaked and cold but all of us stayed for 4 hours because we were really enjoying the whole scene. We would strongly recommend anyone who wants a bit of action to sign on for a beach fishing trip with Captain Dustin Smith. When we come South next winter we’re definitely going to visit and fish with NSB Shark Hunters.

What a great experience.  I love fishing for sharks.  I have caught many from a boat, but never from the beach.  Knowing it was going to be a long, cold evening, Captain Dustin went out of his way to make sure Jeff and I were comfortable, including chairs, a fire, beverages, a near-by port-a-poddy and the music of our choice. 

After several hours of inactivity, the moon came out at 10:27.  A few minutes later, we had a strike and landed a nice 6-foot sand shark (nose to the tip of the tail).  It put up a great fight, much more of challenge than bringing in similar sized sharks from a boat.  Jeff and I teamed up to land it.  Captain and his team, had it photographed, tagged for NOAA, and released.within minutes. We were very proud to contribute to shark research.  The experience was more than just fishing, it was an adventure.  Captain Dustin, his team and Jeff and I have also become fast friends.
