We had a fantastic day with Mike. The boat was perfect. He knew all the right spots to try and when. He gave clear and helpful instructions on what to expect and how best to catch and reel in the fish. Mike knew when patience was the right approach as the tides were shifting with continued reminders that it was not if they started to bite again, but when which was completely correct. He had good advice on where to take the fish to be sealed for bringing them home, a good restaurant suggestion for lunch, and even a recipe for cooking our catch from his wife which we eagerly look forward to trying this evening. We could not have asked for a better guide, day, or experience.

Captain Mike is the bomb. One of the best fishing guides in the industry. As for Cheeto and Frito fishing expeditions go, and we’ve been on quite a few fishing adventures lately, we rate Mike better than 5 star in all categories of the services he provides. He is a very personable and knowledgeable chap. Hell he even put Cheto on a Spring chinook in Tillamook bay on 29 April 2024. We knew the odds of catching such a fish at this time of year would be Unicorn worthy. But we did it. Cheeto reeled in a ~18lbs 35 inches spring chinook salmon. Thanks Captain Mike we can’t wait to schedule the next fishing trip with you.

Our group caught some large chinook in short order on our trip. The caption apparently knows where and when to fish the hot areas.  He checks with other guides for updates as well.  The equipment is the newest and best.  His instructions and helpful hints were spot on.  Having the fish fillet at the end of the trip is a bonus.  Thank you Mike from all of us for a great fishing trip!

Last year we went fishing for Coho salmon and we caught our limit. This trip we were out for Chinook and we all caught fish. We will definitely come back next summer.

My wife and I had an awesome trip - we couldn’t have asked for more. All guides have good days and slower days, but Woody puts every bit of effort into finding the fish. On our particular day, we were one of just two boats catching spring salmon, which was a longtime goal of mine. We also made a run for ling cod when the currents weren’t cooperating for salmon.

Beyond that, Woody is easy to get along with and very professional. He’s as hands on as you need but not overbearing at all if you have experience when it comes to fishing. He’s also full of an immense amount of knowledge both about the fish but also the whole area. One of the big highlights was not even the fishing, but seeing a pod of killer whales. Woody happily took the time to watch them with us after the fishing had ended. Will definitely be back if/ when we’re in the area.
