Captain Tyler initiated confirmation texting with excellent directions straight to the boat! We charter fish every year and this is our 4th company. We wanted a variety of catchable fish for kids, good eating fish and ideally a large trophy catch. Limited by time 5-6 hrs and 12–14 year old children with limited ability to pull heavy fish or tolerate long traveling.

We immediately started trolling from bridge and 2-5mi from shore, catching good size “Tunie” fish (7 or 8 fish) which are fun and easy for kids. Pretty fish (ok, but not great to eat).

Then we bottom fished. Lots of small-medium vermillion (red fish-good eating keepers, but small 12-16inch). Also caught red snappers, grouper, trigger (throw back-out of season, but great fighters).

Likely more lucky, we had caught plenty and had enough time to bottom fish for amber jack! Caught 2!!! (32 inch- throw back because too small and a 35 inch keeper!!!).

Lastly, Allen (boat hand) filleted the fish and bagged it up! He worked hard especially while bottom fishing helping the kids and keeping hooks in the water!

Pros:
-Knowledgable allowing customizing trip as needed (weather, goals, kids, time, etc).

-super clean boat with great air conditioning!

-great communication (You’ll never appreciate it until you have somebody that is bad at it)

-Filleted and bags fish. (Not all places do that. and some charge extra).

-con: 6 person limit

Our family trip was absolutely perfect, with ideal weather and calm waters. It was my three daughters’ first time on a fishing boat, and Tyler and Allen were fantastic, spending a lot of time teaching them about fishing. We aimed to catch fish for dinner and also wanted to experience catching a shark. My son, wife, 14-year-old daughter, and I took turns reeling in an 8-foot, 300+ pound bull shark for over half an hour, which was quite the adventure! For the rest of the trip, we caught red and vermillion snappers, king mackerels, and more, providing us with food for several days. That evening, we took some of our catch to Brotula’s, where they cooked it up with delicious sides. It was a meal to remember. We’re excited to make this an annual outing whenever we’re in Destin.

Whatever you do, don’t bring bananas!  Don’t eat any prior to arrival. Don’t put on banana boat sunscreen!  It’s bad juju and we learned that upon arrival 🤣. All jokes aside, Captain Tyler and First Mate Allen were awesome. Super friendly, very knowledgeable. The boat was very clean and nice. Tons of space. Interior cabin with AC if you overheat. Bathroom on board. Tons of space. Caught a ton of fish on our 4hr trip. Will definitely book again next time we’re in town. But next trip will be either 6 or 8 hours. Our first trip with another boat got cancelled. Captain Tyler was luckily available and we booked right away. 4 hr trip was great with the help of first mate Alan as well. He made sure all 6 of us had plenty of bait and tips to reel in fish
